The Fire Department protects lives and property by providing fire suppression, rescue and Emergency Medical services to the community. The Department is staffed by 19 full-time career personnel and 40-60 volunteer firefighting and support personnel. The Department consists of the Fire Suppression and Emergency Medical Services Divisions.
Fire Supression Divison This Division renders fire suppression, Basic Life Support (BLS) and rescue services to the community from two fire stations. The Division also provides fire safety inspections, fire prevention education and other community services. It also plans and conducts all fire safety training and develops long-term fire safety plans and programs.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) This Division provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to the community with trained paramedics on staff that is supplemented through a contract with the City of Everett. The City has adopted a 6-year transition plan to provide this service entirely with city employees by 2011.
